Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has spent the past few days grappling with the fallout of the car crash he fled after the accident occurred in Dallas earlier this week, but he’s facing another headache now that police claim they found enough weed in the Lamborghini he was driving to charge him with a felony.

On Monday, the world learned Rashee Rice was one of the prime targets in an investigation concerning a race between a Lamborghini and a Corvette in the streets of Dallas over the weekend that resulted in the former colliding with a median before sparking a chain reaction that led to a crash involving four other cars.

Video taken at the scene captured someone who bore an uncanny resemblance to the man coming off of his rookie season with the Kansas City Chiefs leaving the area, and both Rice and the franchise issued vague statements as the situation continued to unfold in the days that followed.

On Wednesday,

while taking “full responsibility” for his role in the crash that left at least four people with minor injuries. His attorney said law enforcement has informed them the WR will likely be hit with criminal charges due to his reckless driving while behind the wheel of the Lambo, but it sounds like there could be others coming thanks to what was discovered when his vehicle was searched.

One of the first things you learn in Breaking The Law 101 is that if you’re going to go that route, it’s a good idea to avoid committing multiple crimes at the same time due to the potential implications.

According to WFAA, Dallas police say they discovered 10.8 grams of marijuana in Rice’s car, which the outlet asserts is enough to qualify as a felony in the state of Texas. It would appear possession of less than four ounces actually qualifies as a Class B misdemeanor—which can still be accompanied by up to 180 days in jail and a fine capped at $2,000—although it could be classified as a felony if they attempt to argue he was selling it.

UPDATE: The outlet confirmed it had mixed up ounces and grams following the publication of this article

Rice’s lawyer noted the police haven’t addressed that particular aspect of the case with him, so we’ll just have to wait and see how the entire thing pans out.
