Unless you’ve been living under a rock — if so, lucky you — then you’ve likely heard of Sydney Sweeney, as she’s grown from a promising young actress to a movie star over the last 12 months or so.

The biggest evidence of Sweeney’s growing stardom is the success of her recent rom-com Anyone But You alongside Glen Powell, which stunningly grossed over $200 million at the global box office.

For comparison, last summer’s rom-com No Hard Feelings, which featured Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence doing a fight scene in her birthday suit, made just $87 million at the global box office.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Anyone But You — which is actually a loose adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing — is also dominating the streaming charts now that it’s on Netflix, as it’s been the #1 movie in the United States virtually since the day it hit Netflix on Tuesday, April 23.

Netflix has certainly leaned into the project given its popularity on social media.

In addition to Anyone But You, Sweeney’s films Night Teeth and Madame Web are also streaming on Netflix, as is her TV series Everything Sucks.

Most recently, Sweeney was seen starring in the religious horror film Immaculate, which she also produced, back in March. The 26-year-old actress also has films such as Eden (alongside Ana de Armas) and Echo Valley (co-starring Julianne Moore) in production.

In the future, Sweeney is gearing up for a remake of the Jane Fonda-starring cult sci-fi film Barbarella, which is rumored to be directed by Scott Pilgrim vs. the World director Edgar Wright.

Sweeney isn’t the only Anyone But You star to be blowing up, as Powell is also being touted as one of the next big things in Hollywood, which is a title he’ll get a chance to prove this summer when he stars in Richard Linklater’s Hit Man and Paramount’s Twister sequel TwistersTop Gun: Maverick, which Powell featured in as Hang Man, is also reportedly getting a sequel.
