Rory McIlroy has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife of seven years. The news arose on Tuesday ahead of the golfer’s upcoming PGA Championship appearance at Valhalla.
Shortly after that story broke, Brooks Koepka posted an appreciation message for wife, Jena Sims, on Instagram.
The curiously timed post landed quite the response – including one from McIlroy’s ex-fiancé, Caroline Wozniacki!McIlroy and his wife, Erica, have been together for seven years. The couple met during the 2012 Ryder Cup as she was a PGA of America employee at the time, and they tied the knot in Ireland in 2017. This week, that relationship saw the beginning of the end, though.
Divorce paperwork was filed in Florida on Monday, just three days before McIlroy tees off in Louisville. A competitor in that upcoming tournament appeared to get petty after seeing the news trend online, sparking a major reaction in the golf community.

Not long after, a reply was seen in the comments section from tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
