By now, you or someone you know has probably subscribed to a prepared meal delivery service. With the convenience of straight-to-door delivery in today’s busy world, it’s a no-brainer as to why.
But after four years of college surviving on ready-made meals, I learned the hard way that convenience often comes at the cost of something else.
From the frozen foods with absolutely zero nutritional value to the microwavable meals lacking all aesthetic appeal and flavor, I’ve had my fair share of disappointments. Enough, in fact, to give prepared meal delivery services a break once graduating. That is until I heard that Factor delivers FRESH, ready-made meals straight to your doorstep. With their chefs working alongside registered dietitians to ensure every meal is tasty AND nutritious, my interest was piqued. Add on no commitments with their weekly plans, it was just what I needed to give prepared meal delivery services another try. And boy was I happy I did!
Factor updates their menu weekly with dozens of delicious meals delivered fresh, never frozen! On top of that, meals are actually nutritious with Keto, Calorie Smart, Vegan + Veggie options to cover an even wider range of preferences. To say the least, I was thoroughly impressed. Best of all though, BroBible readers can save $120 OFF Factor meals when using code: BROBIBLE120OFF at checkout!
Factor Review
With the promise of nutritious, tasty meals that could be heated up in just two minutes, I skipped visiting the grocery store this week and ordered from Factor instead.
Selecting My Factor Meals
With a menu of 29+ chef-prepared meals, selecting which meals I wanted to receive might’ve honestly been the most difficult part of the entire experience.
But first I had to select the number of meals I wanted per week (4, 6, 8, 12, or 18), as well as my meal preference (Chef’s Choice, Keto, Calorie Smart, or Vegan + Veggie). With that done, then came the fun part of picking meals.
Remember, Factor updates their menu each week so you can find your favorites again or constantly explore new meal options. Since this was my first time trying Factor, I picked out 6 meals for a decent range of variety. Here’s what I ordered:
- Shrimp & Asparagus Risotto
- Sundried Tomato Chicken
- Stewed Tomatoes & Pork Ragu Cavatappi
- Blackened Salmon
- Horseradish Shredded Beef
- Pork Tenderloin & Cheesy Cabbage

Fresh Meals Delivered To The Door
Since Factor meals are delivered FRESH, never frozen, I was curious as to how they’d hold up being delivered in sunny California. Packed with thick insulation and gel packs, things were off to a good start. Even after sitting around in my building’s mail sorting room, my meals were still nice and cold.
Each meal comes individually wrapped, perfect for stacking in the fridge or taking with you to work.
Heat, Eat & Enjoy!
Cooking Factor meals is as easy as that.
Just heat in the microwave (or oven) and enjoy!
For the most part, I opted to heat my meals up in the microwave. Just by piercing the clear plastic film and heating for 2 minutes, the results were quite impressive. I did also try heating one of my meals using the oven—this time removing the film and heating for 5 minutes—to add some variation. Honestly, I didn’t notice much of a difference between the two. Either way, Factor meals come out hot and ready to eat!

Factor Meals Review
With a simple heat up in the microwave (or oven in the case of the Horseradish Shredded Beef), every meal came out smelling amazing! So far Factor had impressed me, but tasting these meals for myself would be the true decider.
Shrimp & Asparagus Risotto with Pesto Green Beans
With juicy, wild-caught shrimp atop a flavorful risotto, this Factor meal was definitely my favorite. Maybe I just love seafood, but each bite of shrimp was tender and filled my mouth with flavor. Plus, the green beans on the side were without a doubt better than ones I’ve gotten from the grocery store. I barely gave myself time to breathe when eating this meal. And after finishing it all, I was thoroughly satisfied with the portion size. I wasn’t too full where I needed a midday nap, but I also wasn’t hungry for more.
Sundried Tomato Chicken with Zucchini Noodles
A close second to the Shrimp & Asparagus Risotto, this Factor meal got my stomach rumbling with just a whiff. And no, it wasn’t because I was extra hungry that day. The chicken breast was grilled to perfection and complemented by a creamy house-made sauce that I honestly couldn’t get enough of. Stocked with sundried tomatoes and spinach, it was mouthwatering to the point where I used some of the leftover sauce with my side of zucchini noodles.

Stewed Tomatoes & Pork Ragu Cavatappi with Roasted Garlic Broccoli
Rich and savory ragù ready in just minutes, this Factor meal shows just how wide their range of appetizing selections is. It’s a rendition of the classic French meat sauce with slow-cooked pork ragù served over cauliflower cavatappi. The pasta was far beyond any expectation I had for a ready-made meal and the sauce melted right in my mouth. I may or may not have licked the container clean of the sauce. I happened to be extra hungry that day, don’t judge. But much to my delight, Factor left me full and satisfied with yet another meal.
Blackened Salmon with Smoked Gouda Cauliflower “Grits” & Broccoli
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when it came to this Factor meal. Given my experience with other prepared meal delivery services, my hopes weren’t high for seafood. Plus, I had never tried cauliflower grits before. Well, Factor was spot on with this one. The salmon was tender and well-seasoned with a peppery crust. As for the smoked gouda cauliflower “grits”, I was pleasantly surprised. Rich, cheesy, and paired with the side of broccoli, Factor had delivered once again.

Horseradish Shredded Beef with Smashed Potatoes & Roasted Brussels Sprouts
After my first few Factor meals, I decided to switch things up and see if there was any difference in using the oven instead. Taking only three minutes longer than the microwave, it’s really up to you on how to heat the meals. Moving the food onto a plate to avoid the hot container, I had myself one tasty-looking meal. The shredded beef was surprisingly juicy and despite typically not enjoying Brussels sprouts, I quite liked these ones. The creamy horseradish sauce on the side also provides a hint of sharpness for those who want it.
Pork Tenderloin & Cheesy Cabbage with Garlic Butter Greens
Six days after receiving my Factor box, I was onto the final meal of the week. While this wasn’t my favorite meal in the bunch, the quality was still present. The sliced pork tenderloin packed in all the flavor. The cheesy cabbage was quite saucy but offered a nice crunch. And I honestly can’t decide whether I enjoy these garlic butter green beans or the pesto green beans more—both were so good.
Conclusion
