There’s no rowdier atmosphere in golf than what’s seen yearly at the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale. The Waste Management Phoenix Open’s designated “party hole,” it never fails to deliver after aces from PGA Tour players.

This weekend, that environment will be on full display with the annual tournament kicking off Thursday.

The PGA Tour will have some competition this year, though, as LIV competes across the desert.

The race for an ace is on!

Conditions in Arizona haven’t necessarily ideal for an outdoor celebration, but that wouldn’t stop fans from getting the party started. Despite rain and 50-degree temps in the opening round, attendees set up shop on the 16th with drinks in hand.

They nearly got a chance to erupt when Aaron Baddeley hit the green in his opening round. Unfortunately, viewers just missed out on that hole-in-one opportunity, and they’ve yet to experience the beer showers at the time of this writing.

That wasn’t the case a few year back, as fans exploded with excitement on that 16th green following a tee shot by Sam Ryder.

The scenes are absolutely unreal when those aces drop, so it’s no surprise to see others attempting to replicate. LIV Golf took things to the next level in that competition, not only previewing their own version of the watering hole in Las Vegas but debuting it on the exact same weekend as the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

LIV previews Las Vegas party hole

LIV players landed in Sin City this weekend to compete at the Las Vegas Country Club.

with Super Bowl LVIII in town, as were golf’s superstars as they took to the course for Thursday’s opening round.

And for those in the seats, the weather was much more inducive for a party.

That party was set to take place on the eighth hole, designated for hole-in-one fan festivities. They hyped that scene on social media earlier in the week.

LIV has tried to mimic the epic watering hole at other locations, which include Adelaide and Chicago. Chase Koepka sparked the celebration last season in Australia giving fans a taste of the fun.

Now, they’ll try to match that atmosphere in Las Vegas!

Can LIV steal some of the spotlight from the PGA Tour? To this point, fans haven’t gotten the chance to celebrate, but it’s a long weekend ahead!

We’ll see which course if the first to get soaked in alcoholic beverages with the two tournaments running simultaneously.
