Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg started the weekend by ripping into the Meta Vision Pro headset once again and he kicked off the new week by showcasing the awesome power of Meta’s x Ray-Ban AI glasses, continuing a very welcome trend of Mark Being Mark across his various social channels.

The two products, Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta’s Ray-Ban AI-enabled glasses, are not direct competitors.

The Apple Vision Pro competes directly with the Meta Quest headset(s). But they’re connected in the sense that Mark Zuckerberg continues to showcase the awesome capabilities of Meta’s hardware while calling out the inferior products of competitors.

The Meta Quest vs Apple Vision Pro battle started a few weeks ago when Zuckerberg released a video ripping the headset for what he believes it is: overpriced and with less functionality than the Meta Quest. Tech analyst Ben Evans called out Zuck on Meta’s Threads about this and Zuckerberg responded:

I’m not alone in loving seeing a tech CEO roll up his sleeves and defend the superiority of his products. For too many years, the most visible CEOs have been averse to entering the fray but Zuckerberg’s been calling out the Apple Vision Pro in recent weeks and it’s great to see.

In Montana for the weekend, Zuckerberg put the Meta x Ray-Ban AI-enabled glasses to good use. He used Meta’s AI to get feedback on how many skiing onesies is too many while showing off his closet full of glorious skiing onesies. Mark did however mention that he wasn’t skiing yet as he still rehabs his knee following an ACL tear during MMA training.

Scrolling through that gallery, Mark Zuckerberg also used the Ray-Ban x Meta AI-enabled glasses to learn about horses in the snow. Specifically, if horses get cold in snowy weather and how they handle it.

Mark also used the AI-enabled glasses to find out the of a mountain he was staring at and how tall it is. And he also asked Meta’s AI to explain ‘how snow is made… like a caveman.’ What that means exactly is the Meta AI talked to him like a caveman while explaining the basics of how snow is made, something that most of us know in theory but would struggle to explain how it happens on the spot.

Seeing Mark Zuckerberg put these AI glasses to work in the real world has been fascinating. With each clip, it opens up more possibilities of real-world applications for these glasses. I’m definitely considering buying a pair myself at this point.
