The Minnesota Vikings found a way to keep the New York Jets at bay. It was a tightly contested matchup for the most part as both teams went back and forth throughout. However, after the game, cornerback DJ Reed had some bold comments about Justin Jefferson. As you can imagine, the superstar wide receiver didn’t agree with him.
According to Zack Rosenblatt, the Jets cornerback was incredibly confident with how he played against Jefferson. DJ Reed claims, “I was in his shit all game. He got that one route on me.” Listen to his full quote below about how he believes he locked up Justin Jefferson.

Shortly after the video was posted, the Vikings’ star wide receiver responded on Twitter. Clearly, Justin Jefferson disagrees and gives DJ Reed a reason why his claims are false.

At the end of the day, not many teams are going to allow their cornerback to cover Justin Jefferson by themselves. The kid is an absolute beast at wide receiver and will likely face double coverage more often than not. DJ Reed definitely had a game to be proud of, as the Jets’ cornerback played his role to the best of his abilities.
Either way, it’s nice to see some arguing every once in a while between athletes. It makes things spicy and gives the players something to look forward to. Hopefully, we get to see Justin Jefferson and DJ Reed matched up against each other again one day.
