Original Story
In a devastating incident overnight, a person lost their life and another sustained injuries in a powerful explosion that obliterated a luxurious residence in Mooresville, North Carolina.
The property, valued at $2 million, is owned by Caleb Farley, the cornerback for the Tennessee Titans, as reported by Nexstar’s WJZY.
Emergency officials who arrived at the scene confirmed the fatality and injuries but withheld the identities of the victims, pending notification of their families.
The injured individual was swiftly transported to Atrium Health Main, where they are receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Kent Greene, the Director of Fire Services and Emergency Management for Iredell County.
As of Tuesday morning, Farley’s impressive 6,500-plus-square-foot home, located near Lake Norman, was reduced to little more than rubble.
Caleb Farley himself was present at the scene, surrounded by family, as he cooperated with authorities.
Nearby residents recounted hearing a deafening explosion and detecting the distinct odor of gas. Some noted that Farley had resided in the house for less than a year.
Investigations into the cause of the explosion are underway, as authorities work to piece together the tragic events that unfolded at the NFL star’s residence.
