While her cohort Caitlin Clark is the one getting most of the headlines, Angel Reese proved that even in the WNBA she still has plenty of star power.
Reese became the first rookie in league history to attend the legendary Met Gala on Monday night and her outfit did not disappoint.
Clark leaned into the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme with low-cut, seafoam green mini dress with feathers from Marco Capaldo’s 16Arlington line.
“I’m just excited to see everyone’s outfits,” Reese said to WWD. “Everyone looks amazing in here. Being here on my 22nd birthday is amazing.”
The Chicago Sky selected Reese with the seventh overall pick the 2024 WNBA Draft. She scored 13 points in her preseason WNBA debut on Friday, and now returns to Chicago for her second career game on Tuesday.
Reese is also the new face of Reebok’s women’s basketball line, something she recently opened up about.
“So many different shoe companies wanted to work with me. But I chose Reebok,” Reese
“Two, Shaq. You know my relationship with Shaw. And three I like how they were rebranding everything and they’re letting me be the creator behind everything I want to do. So I’m having my own shoe line coming out. Merch with my name on it.”
Reese’s star power has been evidence since her early days at LSU. While she was helping the Tigers dominate on the court en route to a national championship in 2023, she was also becoming a huge star off the court as well.
“…I have a brand outside of here where the deals are going to follow me if I leave or stay. And I’ve built that relationship with a lot of these brands,” she said in an interview during the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
Should Reese’s success continue on the court, there’s no reason to believe she’ll be anything less than a superstar off of it as well.
