Max Homa is likely very hungover after The Masters. He drank for the first time in a long time on Sunday night after a bummer end to the final round.
Somebody get him some Tylenol!
Homa, who has won six times on the PGA Tour, finished tied for third in this year’s tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.
It was a frustrating finish to the weekend. The 33-year-old was part of a three-way tie for the 36-hole lead alongside Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau on Friday night. Even though Homa failed to make a birdie in the third round on Saturday, he only dropped one shot. He was at 5-under par through 54 holes and just two shots back of the lead.
Unfortunately, his final round was similar to his third round.
Homa went 1-over par on Sunday to end the weekend at -4 alongside Tommy Fleetwood and Collin Morikawa. It was a valiant effort that fell pretty far short of Scheffler’s impressive -11 total.
Despite his third-place finish, Max Homa was visibly disappointed. He kept his head up and tried to keep his spirits high, but it was a bummer. He couldn’t get it done.
When asked how he would feel on Monday, Homa said “not great” with a smile. Not only does he need to digest the loss, there was a plan in place — win or lose — to booze.

Homa said that he had not had a sip of alcohol in a very long time and was going to indulge in a few libations after The Masters was over regardless of the result. He surprised his wife with a birthday celebration!
Now that daybreak is long upon us on this post-Masters Monday, we can only hope that Homa’s head is not pounding and that his stomach is not queasy. The odds are not in his favor. He’s probably hungover…
