Las Vegas Aces star Kelsey Plum wasn’t the only one who dressed to impress on WNBA opening night.
WNBA rookies Nika Muhl and Caitlin Clark also understood the assignment.
While Muhl and Clark didn’t risk a major wardrobe malfunction like Kelsey Plum did with her opening night ‘fit, they did still go viral, showing fans a side of themselves that fans of male sports have gotten used to seeing from their players (both good and bad).

Caitlin Clark’s first professional game for the Indiana Fever was a bit of a struggle. She played 32 minutes, led the team in scoring with 20 points, but only had 3 assists, no rebounds and turned the ball over 10 times.

On the other hand, Clark at least got to play some heavy minutes, something that Nika Muhl, the 14th overall pick in this year’s WNBA draft by the Seattle Storm, didn’t get to do as she didn’t see the floor at all on Tuesday night.

Both women can be excused for their less than stellar debuts. After all, as Nika Muhl pointed out last week, “The season is so quick. I was talking to Sami [Whitcomb] the other day and I was just like, ‘I feel like I played against Iowa yesterday.’
“Some people might find it very draining and stressful. Which it is,” Muhl continued. “But I try to shift my mindset and look at it as another challenge and something that I can learn from and something that I can ultimately get better at.”
NBA players coming out of college get a lot more than the two weeks of practice and two pre-season games these women had to get acclimated to a whole new style of play.
Regardless, neither of them appear to have lost any fans Tuesday night.
