LIV Golf Reportedly Pursuing Superstar Who Disappeared For Over A Decade

In its ongoing quest for world golf supremacy, the LIV Golf series is continually looking to add superstar names to its roster.

The Saudi-backed league added the biggest fish on the market last month when reigning Masters champ Jon Rahm announced his plans to join the league.

But they weren’t done there.

LIV is now reportedly looking to add another big name, albeit one that seemingly fell off the face of the earth for over a decade.

Enter Anthony Kim.

For those of you who don’t recognize the name, Kim was considered the future of American golf not all that long ago.

He turned pro in 2007 and quickly rose to No. 6 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Kim starred at the 2008 Ryder Cup, which the US won, and finished third at The Masters in 2010. He followed that up with a fifth-place finish in the 2011 British Open.

But then he disappeared…

Kim last competed at the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship. He withdrew from that event with an injury. It was his third-consecutive WD.

Then, *poof*, he was gone.

Kim hasn’t played on tour in the last decade. In fact, he’s hardly even been heard from.

But now, he’s back.

Dylan Dethier of Golf.com reports Kim is hoping to make a comeback, and LIV may well be the perfect place for him to do so.

“Kim has spent the last few months in discussions with the PGA Tour, LIV and potential sponsors as he plots a way back, multiple sources familiar with those discussions told GOLF,” Dethier states.

Kim could return directly to the PGA Tour as a past champion. Though he’d need to qualify for signature events. With LIV, he may well be forced to play without a team.

Though Rahm’s team has not yet been announced.

Either way, it appears one of golf’s greatest mystery men is finally back. And the game is much, much better for it.

Here’s hoping Kim has a little bit of magic still left in the tank.
