There’s never a lack of drama when it comes to the New York Jets. Even if they’re not winning on the field, they’re always making headlines somehow.
This time, it’s due to a reported fight between longtime team owner Woody Johnson and Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
NFL Network’s Colleen Wolfe reported this week that Saleh and Johnson got into a heated argument at the NFL’s Owner Meeting this week.
According to @ColleenWolfe on the @AroundTheNFL show, Robert Saleh and Woody Johnson got into a “very heated conversation” at the NFL Owner’s Meeting, and it got awkward.

People believed her report because she was a reputable journalist. Plus, it’s the Jets, and you can write nearly any headline imaginable about the Jets and it’s not all that far-fetched. Case in point, quarterback Aaron Rodgers having been considered for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate.
But, Woody Johnson is claiming that the report is simply untrue. He tried to set the record straight on Twitter.
All this nonsense about a heated argument between Coach Saleh and me at the League Meeting is absolutely false. It is yet another irresponsible report from NFL Network. Please disregard.

That’s a pretty direct attack on the report. It’s rare to see an owner go after a media member so directly, especially one that is loosely employed by the league itself.
Robert Saleh has been the head coach of the New York Jets for three tumultuous seasons of 4-13, 7-10, and 7-10. But, given the injury to Aaron Rodgers just a handful of snaps into the season last year, Woody Johnson and Jets brass decided to give him another season.
That being said, this is almost certainly a make-or-break year for Robert Saleh’s tenure with the Jets. It’s hard to see him surviving as the head coach if they miss the playoffs once again.
