One of the College Football Playoff committee’s worst nightmares came true on Saturday night as Alabama beat Georgia in the SEC Championship game. There are going to be a lot of heated arguments across the country over the next 24 hours about which teams deserve the opportunity to compete for a national title.
The Crimson Tide certainly feel like they have done enough. Their only loss was to Texas — who is also in the CFP mix with one loss — during the second week of the 2023 college football season.
That is not the concern for Nick Saban or his team right now. They played a great game against the Bulldogs, who had not lost since Dec. 4, 2021, and are going to celebrate the win.
Everything else is up to fate. Well, the committee.
Jermaine Burton got the party started shortly after the clock hit zero. He ran right over to the opposing student section to rub in the dub.

Sad Georgia girls were sad throughout the entire evening.

Kirby Smart’s last lost was to Alabama, in the SEC title game, two days shy of two years ago. Freshman and sophomores had not experienced a loss before— ever!
Shook would be an understatement.

Fans didn’t know what to do. Surrender cobras were out in full force.

It was an infestation!

Burton caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown during the win on Saturday. He made sure to let the sad fans know.
Only time will tell whether the SEC champions or runners-up will get into the College Football Playoff. A lot of conversations and debates will be had between Burton’s postgame antics and Sunday night.
Could the Southeastern Conference be left out entirely? Probably not. Maybe.
The only thing we know is that Georgia girls are sad!
