NASCAR Fans Go Crazy On Social Media After To Closest Finish In Series History

If you blink you missed it. Literally.

Kyle Larson won the NASCAR Cup Series’ Advent Health 400 at Kansas Speedway by .001 of a second over Chris Buescher on Sunday night. It was the closest finish in the sport’s illustrious history.

For reference, the average blink takes anywhere between 0.1 and 0.4 of a second.

The victory for Larson surpasses Rick Craven’s iconic victory over Kurt Busch at Darlington Raceway in 2003. That race had a margin of victory of .002 of a second.

While Daniel Suaurez beat Ryan Blaney by .003 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in a three-wide finish just a few months ago.

NASCAR fans could not believe what they what witnessed on Sunday.

In fact, the race was so close that FOX initially announced Buescher as the winner, only to correct themselves shortly after.

Larson is currently considered the sport’s most talented driver. He’ll have a chance to prove to as much later this month when he makes his first career IndyCar start at the Indy 500.
