Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud clearly isn’t the biggest fan of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year took some shots at the future Hall of Fame QB during a recent podcast interview.
While appearing on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Stroud was discussing four quarterbacks from the previous era: Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Matthew Stafford, and Aaron Rodgers.
In addition to saying he’d rather have Manning’s career than Rodgers’, the former Ohio State Buckeye also essentially said that Stafford is a better signal-caller than Rodgers as he believes the Los Angeles Rams quarterback would’ve had “three or four” Super Bowl titles if he played in Green Bay instead of Rodgers.
“If you give Matthew Stafford a chance like Aaron Rodgers had, I guarantee you he might have had more rings,” Stroud said. “I think he would have like three or four.”

Stroud also wasn’t shy about criticizing Rodgers’ leadership abilities, as he said while he knows Brady isn’t a good teammate, he isn’t sure about Rodgers and implied that his intrapersonal skills have held him back from winning more.
“I’ve talked to Tom Brady about this because he’s a good mentor to me. What he told me is his teammates, and how he treats his teammates. And that’s where I think it falls off,” Stroud said. “We don’t know how Aaron Rodgers treats his teammates, but you can guarantee that Tom Brady treats his teammates right because how he got those rings.”
Luckily for Rodgers, he’s going to have a chance to make Stroud eat his words as the New York Jets and Houston Texans will be facing off at MetLife Stadium for a nationally-televised Thursday Night Football game on Halloween.
During his rookie season in Houston, Stroud — drafted #2 overall out of Ohio state in the 2023 NFL Draft — completed 64% of his passes for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions.
