EA Sports Seemingly Snubs Shedeur Sanders On Cover Of ‘College Football 25’

When EA Sports announced the long-awaited revival of its beloved college football game series, one question immediately came to mind.

“Who is going to be on the cover?”

Several names were thrown around: Quinn Ewers, Jalen Milroe, Travis Hunter. But one name continually came to the forefront: Shedeur Sanders.

Now it appears we know the answer to the question, and it’s not Sanders,

EA Sports released a promotional image on Friday and the deluxe edition cover of the game. It featured Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins as well as Ewers, Hunter and Milroe front and several others.

Various athletes without names on their jerseys also line the perimeter of the image. But none of whom were Sanders.

Shedeur Sanders Will Be Compensated For EA Sports College Football 25 Despite Cover Snub

Chris Vannini of The Athletic reported in February that all athletes in the game will receive a free copy of the game in addition to a base pay of $600.

“An EA Sports spokesperson told The Athletic that every player who opts in will receive $600 and a copy of the game (a $70 value),” Vannini wrote. “A number of college athletes, both within football and outside of it, will also become ambassadors for the game and receive additional NIL compensation. Players who do not opt in will be represented with a generic player avatar, as Barry Bonds famously was in many MLB video games. With more than 11,000 players expected to be in the game, this is believed to be the largest group NIL partnership of its kind.”

Though cover athletes and promotional partners reportedly received far more money.

Did they offer Sanders a cover spot? Only he and EA Sports know the answer to that.

But for now it appears that one of college football’s biggest stars is taking a back seat in the new game.
