It’s no secret people who make a living playing golf possess a set of skills most average hacks can only dream of, and Bryson DeChambeau has once again proven that’s the case after managing to birdie a par 5 with a set of junior clubs.

It’s been around eight years since Bryson DeChambeau joined the PGA Tour after deciding to turn pro before really bursting onto the scene in 2018 by racking up five wins over the course of the year.

After failing to carry that momentum into the following season, he made plenty of waves after deciding to bulk up during the pandemic before attempting to use the muscle he’d packed onto his frame to Disrupt golf with a strategy that revolved around his impressive distance off the tee.

He was able to leverage that approach en route to winning the U.S. Open in 2020, but ultimately opted to slim back down after deciding it wasn’t sustainable.

As things currently stand, DeChambeau is doing his thing with LIV Golf but has also carved out a solid side hustle as a golf influencer thanks to the videos he routinely posts on social media (which includes a number of collaborations with Paige Spiranic).

Those clips have done a great job highlighting a couple of realities. The first is that DeChambeau has an impressively analytical approach to a game he obviously eats, breathes, and sleeps, and the second is that he’s routinely capable of doing things on the course that make Average Joes like you and I wonder why we even bothered trying in the first place.

Nothing sums up that second sentiment quite like DeChambeau’s latest experiment, which saw him swap his bag for one that was home to a set of clubs designed with junior players in mind before taking on a par 5.

DeChambeau was still able to carry 240 yards off of the tee before ending up next to the green by hitting a driver off of the deck, and he opted to eschew what appeared to be the lone wedge in his bag in favor of the putter he used to get within five feet of the hole before converting the birdie putt.

Must be nice.
