Broken-Nosed Aggie Student Manager Flashing Horns Down Produces Iconic Image After Scary Baseball Scene

A baseball rests on the edge of the infield.
A baseball rests on the edge of the infield.

A scary scene unfolded in a recent college baseball matchup between rivals Texas and Texas A&M. A student manager was struck in the face by a foul ball, resulting in a bloody nose and his removal from the dugout.

He was able to update followers after the game, which the Aggies won 9-2, and he did so in the best possible way.

Anyone close to this rivalry knows just how much these two universities hate one another. It’s caused family splits. It’s caused conference departures. There is no love lost, even in a midweek baseball matchup that has no relevance on league standings or postseason ambitions.

No, it means much more – Bragging Rights!

That was on full display Tuesday night.

The Longhorns and Aggies faced off on the diamond in a Top 15 showdown that would end in blowout fashion.

Texas A&M jumped out to a 2-0 lead on the road, plating a pair of runs in their first at-bat. It would be smooth sailing from there. Texas attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth, but the Ags responded with a run in the fifth to keep that lead at two.

They’d then outscore the Horns 6-1 over the final three frames to blow the game open.

Lost in the on-field shuffle was a scary incident that saw a Texas A&M student manager get struck with a foul ball off the bat of a Texas hitter.

You could see blood running down the manager’s face as the ball appeared to get him square in the nose.

He went down quick, having training staff take immediate action. He was then escorted out of the dugout and into the locker room for treatment.

After the win, an update was given along with a vicious troll.

Incredible. This rivalry!

Chase Behrens, the manager who got hit, looks like he’s going to be okay after what initially looked to be a serious setback. The Horns Down was just the icing on the cake!

This deep-rooted hatred will only grow next season when the Longhorns join the SEC. No more midweek matchups for these foes. Instead, we’ll have crucial weekend series that count towards the league standings.

And I’m sure more than a few Horns Downs will be flashed from that Aggie dugout!
