Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was one of ten people who were struck by bullets during a shooting at a nightclub in Florida over the weekend, but it thankfully sounds like he was able to avoid being seriously wounded.
You have to imagine Tank Dell was pretty happy to hear he’d been selected by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft when you consider he’d spent the previous three years playing college football in the city the franchise calls home.
He got off to a solid start as a rookie alongside C.J. Stroud by racking up 709 yards and hauling in seven touchdowns in the 11 games he appeared in, but he unfortunately suffered a major setback in Week 13 when he suffered a season-ending injury after fracturing his leg.

According to ESPN, Dell headed to Cabana Live in Sanford, Florida (a club located around 35 miles south of his native Daytona Beach) on Saturday night and was in the venue when a fight broke out shortly after midnight.
The situation escalated when an unidentified 16-year-old suspect pulled out a gun and began firing into the crowd, and ten people—including Dell—suffered minor injuries from the bullets that were sprayed before a security guard was able to subdue the shooter.
The Texans released a statement saying Dell was treated for what was described as a “minor injury” and quickly discharged from the hospital. He was able to make the trek back to Houston on Sunday for further examination, but it appears he’ll be more than ready to go when the season gets underway.
