Things Got Chippy After Arizona State Football Players Chanted About OSU Pitcher’s Girlfriend

Oregon State Aiden May College Baseball

Arizona State had its college baseball season come to an end on Thursday at the last-ever Pac-12 Tournament. The five-seed Sun Devils could not get it done and were eliminated from the postseason.

Oregon State was able to keep its composure despite a valiant effort from Kenny Dillingham’s football program to get in the Beavers’ heads!

Things got chippy between the two sides during the first few innings. Words were exchanged and fingers were pointed.

This year’s Pac-12 Tournament is currently underway at Scottsdale Stadium, in Scottsdale, Ariz. It is located no more than five miles from Arizona State’s main campus in Tempe. It was very easy for Dillingham and company to make the trip to support their own. They sat right behind the dugout!

Aiden May was on the bump for Oregon State. The right-handed pitcher began his career on the JUCO level, spent 2023 at Arizona and then transferred up to Corvallis. He entered Thursday’s contest with a 2.59 ERA over 59 innings in 11 starts.

His day got started with two scoreless innings. At the end of both frames, the 6-foot-2, 196-pound junior turned toward the Arizona State dugout to let them know that he was feeling himself.

To end the first, May turned and pointed over in that direction. He gave them a piece of his mind to end the second after working his way out of a two-on, no-out jam.

Some, if not all of May’s antics were directed toward the football players. They channeled a lot of energy for the Sun Devils and got in his ear as soon as he toed the rubber.

At one point during the first two innings, Arizona State football chanted “We Love Courtney” at the opposing pitcher. Although her exact relation to May is unclear, it can be assumed that she either was his girlfriend in Tucson or is his girlfriend today. Either way, whomever she is, the Sun Devils loved Courtney.

That gave May some extra juice!

He allowed four hits, two earned runs and two walks with two strikeouts in four innings, which is a really solid outing in college baseball. Oregon State won 3-2.
