Actress Alyssa Milano drew the ire of many on social media when she shared a photo from the Super Bowl on Sunday after starting a GoFundMe last month to raise money for her son’s baseball team.

On the Instagram post showing the photo of her and her son inside Allegiant Stadium, Milano wrote, “My buddy.

#mothersonlove #mothersonbond #superbowl.”

The 51-year-old caused outrage in January when she asked her X (formerly Twitter) followers to help fun her son’s baseball team’s trip to Cooperstown, New York.

“My son’s baseball team is raising money for their Cooperstown trip. Any amount would be so greatly appreciated. You can read more about the team and make a donation here,” she wrote on X.

Naturally, this bit of begging by someone with millions of dollars did not sit well with countless parents who have had to struggle to pay for their own kids’ sports.

Ironically, Alyssa Milano, who calls herself an activist, made the GoFundMe plea on X after declaring in November of 2022, “I gave back my Tesla, I bought the VW ev. I love it. I’m not sure how advertisers can buy space on Twitter. Publicly traded company’s products being pushed in alignment with hate and white supremacy doesn’t seem to be a winning business model.”

Also ironically, Volkswagen was founded by by the German Labor Front under the Nazi Party in the 1930s.

So, when she showed up to the Super Bowl, which had an average ticket price of $8,600 according to StubHub, people on social media were quick to bring up her recent GoFundMe request.

“Using the GoFundMe donations? The suckers who donated deserve this,” one person

on X.

“I overdrew my bank account donating to his little league GoFundMe and you’re at the SUPER BOWL??!?” someone else

.

“Begged for money for son’s “baseball” trip and received $15,164,” another

. “Shows up for Super Bowl a few days later.”

This, as previously pointed out, is far from the first time Alyssa Milano has done things that come off as contradictory.

In 2009, Milano ran an online fundraising campaign for to provide drinking water to developing nations. Her goal was $25,000, but thanks in large part to a donation from her wealthy husband she raised over $92,000.

She spoke at the 2018 Women’s March, then refused to participate in 2019 unless the group’s co-chairs resigned.

And in 2020, despite re-launching the #MeToo movement in 2017, refused to withdraw her endorsement of Joe Biden for President despite him being the subject of a sexual assault allegation.
