Several NFL teams have made inquiries to the New England Patriots regarding the potential trade of running back Ezekiel Elliott, according to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.
This comes as Elliott is a pending free-agent at the end of the season, while the Patriots currently have a 2-6 record this season.
In attempts to bolster their running back room and short-yardage/goal-line efficiency, NFL teams are exploring Elliott’s availability, per the report.

Elliott, a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro selection, signed with the Patriots earlier this year after a seven-year stint with the Dallas Cowboys, where he was originally drafted as the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Ezekiel Elliott’s current season stats stand at 260 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, totaling 319 yards in all including receiving.
With his impending free agency, there’s potential for a trade to a team that wants to add a powerful running back to their lineup for the remainder of the season.
