Tyrrell Hatton’s usual caddie will not be by his side at The Masters this weekend. Instead, a friend of the golfer will walk the course at Augusta National.
A freak injury is to blame for that absence, which occurred in the days leading up to golf’s biggest event.
Hatton recently spoke on the setback while addressing the media.“My caddie fell over last night after dinner,” he said on Sunday after his final round at LIV Miami. “Now, his reputation is an interesting one, so I don’t know how the fall really occurred, but he landed pretty heavy on his shoulder. He spent the afternoon in the hospital.
“He’s had an X-ray. He won’t be caddying for the next month… So, I’ve got a friend on the bag. He’s actually flying tomorrow to Augusta.”

He continued on to say that the friend will help out in future tournaments following The Masters, too.
As Tyrrell Hatton explained this, fellow LIV golfer Jon Rahm was in absolute stitches at the podium. He tried to hold back his laughter upon hearing about the caddie’s injury but had a hard time keeping it together.
Maybe he was already thinking ahead to the upcoming tournament.
A caddie-less Tyrrell Hatton could provide a soundbite or two in Augusta
That is, if his past is any indication. You don’t have to look back far to find his most recent outburst as Hatton was caught on a hot mic at LIV Miami.
The golfer went into a bit of a meltdown after seeing a shot bounce off the fairway in a weekend round.

Despite the frustrating tee shot, Hatton was able to secure a fourth-place finish at LIV Miami, wrapping up his final round at -8 under for the tournament.
That put him in a tie with Rahm and Marc Leishman, who had some difficulties of his own on the event’s final day.
As for Tyrrell Hatton, he’ll look to overcome the absence of his caddie and put together a successful weekend at The Masters. He hopes he’s the only one laughing come Sunday.
