Al Pacino is possibly the most legendary American actor of all-time. The legend has been starring in America’s biggest and most critically-acclaimed movies for over five decades now.
Right now, though, he’s making headlines for what was a pretty awkward presentation of the Best Picture award at the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday evening.
The Oscars were filled with shenanigans throughout. Notably, John Cena came onto the stage naked, covered only by the award envelope, to announce the award for Best Costumes. And, John Mulaney went on a hilarious bit about the 1989 classic Field of Dreams.
The weirdest moment of the night might’ve been Al Pacino’s presentation of Best Picture. It’s honestly hard to explain, so you have to watch it.
I’m obsessed with the way Al Pacino announced Oppenheimer as Best Picture. couldn’t have been more chaotic or confusing lol
“Best Picture…uh, I have to go to the envelope for that. And I will. Here it comes. And my eyes see Oppenheimer?”#Oscars pic.twitter.com/a0hNQ4ZP7j

That was so strange? Surely he’s done this before.
Al Pacino delivering the most terrifically weird Best Picture announcement ever. I bet Kimmel's entire chest dropped. #Oscars

The winner was summer smash-hit Oppenheimer, the biographical film about the development of the atomic bomb directed by Christopher Nolan. It beat out other contenders such as Killers of the Flower Moon, Barbie, and Poor Things.
But, this year’s Best Picture announcement will always be remembered for Al Pacino being weird.
