Nika Muhl will make her long-awaiting WNBA debut for the Seattle Storm against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Wednesday night. You could not write it any better.
Her legal issues have been resolved and she gets a chance at revenge in her very first game!
Muhl, a native of Croatia, was legally not allowed to work in the United States during the Storm’s first four games of the 2024 season.
The 23-year-old’s student visa expired when she graduated from UConn earlier this month so she had to get a new one.A P-1 visa can take up to six months for approval so this process could have been a lot worse. And it sets up one of the best storylines of the entire year.
UConn lost to Iowa by two points in an all-time classic at the Women’s Final Four. Clark ultimately finished with 21 points after an extremely slow start to the game.
The greatest scorer in college basketball history was held to just six points on 3-of-11 shooting in the first half against the Huskies. She did not make any of her six three-point attempts.
Muhl locked Clark down! The battled for 40 minutes. It was a war on both ends of the floor.

Nobody else in the country was able to guard Clark like Muhl.
Now, less than two full months later, they will meet again on Wednesday night in Washington. Muhl is going to make her regular season debut against the person she called “unguardable.”
Okay, let’s try again:

Even though Seattle would have liked to have the No. 14 overall pick on the floor for every game thus far, the storyline could not have worked out any better. Indiana is 0-4.
Caitlin Clark’s next opportunity to get in the win column comes against Nika Muhl, her nemesis.
