Michael Thomas Goes Scorched Earth On Reporter Who Claims Saints Are Going To ‘Release’ Him

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas did not hold back while addressing local reporter Jeff Duncan during an unhinged rant on Thursday. It was wild!

The exchange took place shortly before noon central time.

While this particular instance seemed to stem from a slight nuance in wording, there might be an underlying beef.

Thomas was clearly furious.

Duncan reported on NOLA.com that Michael Thomas has played his last game with the team that drafted him out of Ohio State in 2016. He said that the NFL organization will “soon release” the 31-year-old pass-catcher. Multiple sources told him that “it’s not a matter of if the Saints move on, but when.”

While this does not come as a big surprise, Thomas does not appreciate how Duncan worded his report. That was made abundantly clear during a series of targeted posts on X.

Thomas’ first post alluded to the root of his frustration in this instance. New Orleans signed him to a one-year contract last March worth $10 million. His contract will expire in the coming weeks.

Thus, for Duncan to say that he will be “released” is technically untrue. Rather, the Saints are choosing not to reach a new agreement and will part ways with the eight-year veteran.

Thomas did not stop there. Duncan obviously wronged him or his teammates in the past, and this was the breaking point.

Thomas proceeded to call him a slang term for a prostitute and offered some further insight— from his perspective.

Unfortunately, the wide receiver did not provide any further examples of the articles that Duncan supposedly got wrong. That would have been very helpful.

Thomas also targeted Duncan’s appearance and said that he “look like he take them salt things,” which we can only assume is smelling salts… or bath salts? Who knows.
