New York Jets quarterback and alleged vice presidential candidate Aaron Rodgers has allegedly shared Sandy Hook conspiracy theories in private conversations.
According to a report from CNN, Rodgers has had multiple conversations in which he expressed that the Sandy Hook shooting, which took the lives of 20 children and six adults in 2012, was not real.
“Sandy Hook never happened…All those children never existed. They were all actors,” Rodgers allegedly said, according to a source. “They’re [the families of the victims] all making it up. They’re all actors.”
Infamous conspiracy theorist Alex Jones peddled similar conspiracy theories on his radio show and was ultimately sued, resulting in him owing the survivors of the tragedy $1.5 billion when the case was settled in November 2023. Jones has since filed for bankruptcy and has largely been de-platformed from all major social media cites.
“[CNN journalist Pamela]Brown was covering the Kentucky Derby for CNN in 2013 when she was introduced to Rodgers, then with the Green Bay Packers, at a post-Derby party. Hearing that she was a journalist with CNN, Rodgers immediately began attacking the news media for covering up important stories.”
“Rodgers brought up the tragic killing of 20 children and 6 adults by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School, claiming it was actually a government inside job and the media was intentionally ignoring it.”
According to CNN, Rodgers, through one of his agents, declined to comment, thus passing up the opportunity to deny these allegations.
Earlier this week, just a day after the NFL’s free agency period began, news broke that fringe independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was considering the part-time quarterback and full-time conspiracy theorist as his running mate in the 2024 Presidential Election.
Given that Rodgers is now a potential political candidate, he’s going to be receiving the journalist scrutiny of a politician, which likely explains why this story has come to light.
