Tyreek Hill has once again found himself embroiled in a legal situation courtesy of a self-proclaimed model and influencer who accused him of purposefully breaking her leg, and his lawyer has fired back by claiming a dog was actually to blame.
Being one of the best players in the NFL comes with plenty of perks, but it also means you’re going to have more of a target on your back than the average person.
Tyreek Hill has been at the center of a number of criminal investigations over the course of his career, but last month, he found himself on the receiving end of a civil lawsuit filed by Sophie Hall, a woman who claimed he purposefully collided with her during a “backyard football lesson” at his house in Miami last summer and broke her leg in the process.
Hall is seeking between $50,000 and $75,000 in damages over the incident, which she claims was the result of him retaliating after she successfully held her own against the Miami Dolphins wide receiver during one of the drills she engaged in after she was invited to stay at his home for a few days toward the end of June in 2023.
According to ESPN, Julius B. Collins, the lawyer representing the WR in the matter, issued a statement describing the accusations as “baseless” while asserting she filed the lawsuit to “generate bad publicity for Mr. Hill in an attempt to ‘scare tactic’ him into personally covering the cost of Ms. Hall’s medical bills.”
The attorney asserted the actual cause of the injury (a fractured right leg) was a dog that Hall tripped over while taking part in the “playful” practice session and added Hill had already filed a homeowner’s insurance claim to cover the medical expenses she incurred.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how this plays out.
