The Pat McAfee Show personality “Boston Connor”, real name Connor Campbell, made an off-color joke about University of Nebraska point guard Keisei Tominaga and Japanese culture in response to the Cornhuskers’ NCAA Tournament loss.
Campbell, one of the many talking haircuts on The Pat McAfee Show who makes sure to laugh at his boss’ jokes whenever he utters one, said during a segment — in which he’s playing a character named “Donny Don Don” — that Tominaga committed seppuku following Nebraska’s loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Texas A&M.
Seppuku is a form of ritualistic suicide that was practiced by Japanese people, samurais especially, during the during the Shōwa era.
“Rumor has it that our favorite player, Keisei Tominaga, is no longer with us. And I’m not saying he’s no longer with us because the Nebraska Cornhuskers lost by 50. He actually performed seppuku on himself,” Campbell said on the Monday, March 25 episode of The Pat McAfee Show
“Stabbed himself through the chest in the heart because he felt as though he brought a dishonor to himself, his family and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Now that is just what I’m hearing at the rumor mill. I have not confirmed yet with the obituary whether or not he’s actually dead.”

Campbell’s glib comments about Tominaga certainly shouldn’t come as a surprise, as The Pat McAfee Show replaceable has displayed his penchant for lowbrow humor before.
On Twitter, his display name is simply “Football”. He has a Bill Belichick quote tattooed on his right bicep. On The Pat McAfee Show, he’s usually seen rocking an ironic, tie-dyed galaxy cat t-shirt and a scraggly mullet.
His bit is that he’s essentially trying to be the jock version of Alan from The Hangovers, a movie that was at the forefront of comedy… 15 years ago.
And the result of such low comedic processing power leads you to the above: a tailcoat-riding chubby dude in a tank top firing off a wildly offensive and racist joke about a 23-year-old college student who just moved to the United States five years ago on nationally televised airwaves.
