3-time Super Bowl champ and MVP Patrick Mahomes isn’t the only football player in the family grabbing headlines. Patty’s lesser known sibling, his half-brother Graham Walker, has graduated from Brown University after playing three seasons for the Bears and he’ll now take that Ivy League degree (in Philosophy) to Texas where he’s set to play wide receiver for the Rice Owls.
If you were unaware that Patrick Mahomes had a half-brother you’re not alone. PFT’s Michael David Smith said “the real news is that the best player in the NFL has a younger brother who plays football as well” and I don’t disagree with that statement as today was the first time I’d ever heard about Mahomes’ half-brother.
The two share a biological father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., who last made headlines in February following his third arrest for drunk driving. According to PFT’s report, Patrick Mahomes’ half-brother Graham Walker was “raised primarily by his mother Jessamyn Walker and stepfather Gerry Howatt.”
The Rice Owls will receive a stud at wide receiver. Walker has 1 year of eligibility left after graduation from Brown and he put up some great stats in his senior year in Rhode Island.
On November 18th against Dartmouth, Graham Walker had 92 receiving yards. He also had a 43-yard reception against Cornell on October 21st. Walker also record 2 TDs in Brown’s game against Central Connecticut State back on September 30th. In the 2023 season, he had four games with over 70 receiving yards and hauled in 6 touchdowns through the air.
Patrick Mahomes’ Half-Brother Graham Walker Has Ups
The Rice Owls went 6-7 on the season in 2023 with notable wins over Houston, blowout dubs over TX Southern and Tulsa, and they just narrowly lost to ACC-bound SMU in a 31-36 loss at home on November 4th.
I, for one, look forward to seeing another member of Patrick Mahomes’ family running amok on the football field. According to reports, Graham Walker has aspirations of making it to the NFL after his NCAA eligibility is up.
Patrick Mahomes Sr. also said back in January that KC’s Patrick Mahomes is supportive of Graham’s career, saying “He’s supportive, as he always is. Hopefully in this offseason Patrick will get a chance to throw the ball to him, run routes, as Patrick always has his receivers come down.”
