The Cardinals are coming off a 4-13 season, and are beginning fresh with a new regime. They now seem to be closer to rebuilding than to be a likely playoff team. In addition quarterback Kyler Murray is still rehabbing from his ACL injury and isn’t expected to be around at the start of the season.
The issues with the team will factor into how they move forward with some of their players, including alpha receiver, DeAndre Hopkins.
Despite DeAndre still producing in a fairly high level in 2022, Hopkins didn’t have a smooth ride.
After missing time with injuries in 2021, he was suspended for six-games for PED usage. That has also changed his contract.
Update: The no-trade clause on #Cardinals All-Pro WR DeAndre Hopkins contract has voided due to his 6-game PED suspension last year, per @corryjoel of CBS Sports.

DeAndre Lost His No-Trade Clause
DeAndre Hopkins no longer has a no-trade clause in his contract following his six-game suspension which makes it a lot more easy to move him.
It was already reported that Hopkins was subject to trade inquiries during the trade deadline and a move for the 31-year old seem more likely now.
Hopkins has 853 career catches for 1,1298 yards and 71 touchdowns. He joined the Cardinals from the Texans in 2020 following a trade.
We’ll now have to wait and see which team pulls the trigger.
